TUTORING

Lessons can be face to face or online via zoom.

Our online courses are perfect if you want a truly sociable language class without leaving the house.

Expect the same teachers, classmates and lively atmosphere.

We work closely with our students to understand their needs and offer well organised and structured lessons to achieve the best results.

Please remember the ideal time to start additional tuition is at least a year prior to GCSE.

Progress in a language can’t be rushed and the pupil needs time to increase their vocabulary knowledge, improve their grammar, their fluency and gain more confidence.

With extra tuition,

✔a student will improve their sentence structure

✔ a student will be confident using verbs

✔ a student will have a wide range of vocabulary to be used in the writing and speaking tasks. It will also make the listening exam a lot easier.

✔ a student will go into the exam with confidence

 Testimonies 2023

Madame Walklett has been providing French tuition for our school since the end of last year. As Primary Language lead I have seen clear progression from the pupils. Upon discussion with them, after her sessions, they are engaged and enthused in learning a new language. Madame Walklett makes the lessons fun and engaging and her subject knowledge and how to implement language learning are invaluable tools for any school looking to develop their French curriculum.

We would highly recommend Karine to other parents who are looking to help their children prepare for their GCSE French exam. During the period that Karine tutored our son in preparation for his GCSE French speaking exam he gained immense confidence in conversing in French. This was due to Karine’s excellent teaching skills as throughout she was patient and supportive which made him feel very at ease so that he was not embarrassed to attempt to speak in another language.

TESTIMONIES  2022

I cannot recommend Karine’s French tutoring highly enough! The lessons have exceeded my expectations. Initially I sought tutoring as I had lost my confidence speaking French, but thanks to Karine’s lessons, not only has my confidence improved dramatically but so have my results in university exams.

What distinguishes Karine from other tutors is that she is really listens to what students want to get out of her lessons - whether that be to learn the language to pass an exam or to go on holiday in France. She quickly got to grips with my needs as a university student and shaped lessons around my personal targets.

Karine is patient, encouraging and reliable. Although all my lessons were online, they were fast-paced and engaging - I always came away thinking the hour had been productive. Karine puts considerable thought into her lessons and is very well prepared for each class with exercises as well as authentic source materials (news articles, recent video clips etc.), which makes discussions interesting. She also enriches the lessons with a great depth and breadth of cultural knowledge and litters her sentences with idioms to help more advanced students progress in their learning. I have really enjoyed my French tutoring with Karine and seen progress in my grades as a result of her tuition.

Karine is well prepared for her lessons, and expertly pinpoints what level her students are at, and where they need to go next to improve. My daughter has really enjoyed working with her, and feels that her vocabulary has not only increased, but improved with more challenging word choices. Karine is patient and endeavours to be flexible- we highly recommend her.

My daughter is 9 years old and absolutely loves her French lessons with Karine. We want our daughter to consolidate the French she is learning at school as we will be moving to the south of France in 8 month time. Karine is very professional, reliable and patient. She makes learning French fun and enjoyable!
